This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
• Develop impactful and business-oriented creative solutions for a leading enterprise retail client.
• Oversee integrated teams across various platforms, including brand-building, seasonal campaigns, commerce, shopper marketing, digital, social media, in-store experiences, content creation, CRM, and production outputs.
• Collaborate with agency creative leaders, strategy, account management, production, media, and client teams.
• Rapidly grasp the client’s brand, industry, customer journey, promotional cycles, stakeholder dynamics, and operational complexities.
• Convert business goals, customer insights, category trends, and merchandising priorities into unique, effective, and actionable creative concepts.
• Lead teams from briefing through concept development, presentations, refinement, production, and final delivery.
• Foster creative excellence across integrated retail projects, ensuring ideas are strategically sound, exquisitely crafted, suitable for the channel, and rooted in customer behavior.
• Balance innovative thinking with promotional schedules, claims, legal reviews, partner approvals, modular toolkits, asset variations, and production efficiency.
• Establish trust with internal teams and senior client stakeholders.
• Present creative concepts confidently, supported by business rationale and a clear perspective.
• Mentor art directors, copywriters, designers, social/content creators, production partners, and extended teams.
• Generate momentum, offer constructive feedback, and assist teams in making informed trade-offs.
• Quickly acclimate, identify gaps, and initiate productive working patterns.
• Organize creative reviews, internal milestones, client presentations, and production transitions.
• Manage multiple projects and timelines, proactively escalating risks and directing teams towards high-value creative decisions.
• Work with the agility of a freelancer, demonstrating ownership, discretion, and executive-level creative leadership presence.
• A minimum of 15 years of creative experience, including senior creative leadership roles within an agency, retail, commerce, shopper marketing, brand, or integrated marketing context.
• Proven experience in leading enterprise retail or similarly intricate, high-volume client engagements involving multiple stakeholders, channels, and approval processes.
• A strong portfolio showcasing integrated creative leadership across brand development, digital, social media, content, retail media, shopper marketing, CRM, experiential marketing, out-of-home (OOH), film/video, and/or in-store interactions.
• Demonstrated capacity to lead teams, present to senior clients, shape creative strategies, and produce work that is both distinctive and commercially viable.
• Comfort with freelance work dynamics, including quick onboarding, flexible collaboration, effective communication, clear prioritization, and dependable performance under tight deadlines.
• A Bachelor’s degree, a background from a portfolio school, or equivalent professional experience in advertising, design, marketing, communications, or a related field.
• Candidates must be based in the New York or Boston area.
