EV Charger Service Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to the training partner regarding actual job responsibilities related to EV charger service, which encompasses installation, commissioning, verification and testing, maintenance, repair, technical support, and decommissioning for Level 2 and DC fast chargers.

• Assess the curriculum and lab activities in relation to industry standards and employer requirements, particularly focusing on lockout/tagout electrical safety procedures.

• Assist in defining entry-level and advancement roles in charger service for career development pathways.

• Offer advice on credentials that are valued by employers, such as EVITP, electrician certifications, and manufacturer-specific training.

• Facilitate instructor development by imparting field knowledge to instructors and those developing the curriculum.

• Provide insights from the field regarding common failures, diagnostics, tools, and best practices for uptime.

• With approval, include a brief resume and summary of experience in the proposal.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical field experience in installing, commissioning, maintaining, or repairing EV charging equipment (Level 2 and/or DC fast charging).

• Journeyman electrician status, a California DIR electrician certification, EVITP certification, or an equivalent documented trade credential.

• Proficient understanding of electrical safety practices, including lockout/tagout, as well as relevant electrical codes.

• Capability to convey technical information clearly to instructors and curriculum developers.

• Preferred: California C-10 electrical contractor license or experience in the EV charger field within California.

• Preferred: Experience in instruction, apprenticeship, or training by manufacturers.

• Preferred: Familiarity with charge point operator or EVSE operations and maintenance service programs.
