This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Serve as the main daily commercial liaison with the client throughout the design and construction phases.
• Deliver services in cost planning, estimation, and forecasting.
• Develop and present cost plans at significant design and construction milestones.
• Create and uphold processes for cost control, change management, and commercial governance.
• Estimate, evaluate, negotiate, and oversee change orders.
• Analyze contractor and subcontractor pricing and lead negotiations when necessary.
• Oversee contingency management, commitment tracking, cost-to-complete forecasts, and cost variance analyses.
• Conduct post-contract quantity surveying, cost control, valuations, and payment certifications.
• Execute interim valuations, cost checks, and commercial audits.
• Review and provide feedback on contractor submissions.
• Manage the cost and commercial elements of contracts.
• Negotiate, finalize, and close out final accounts.
• Compile built-cost data and maintain benchmarking records.
• Collaborate with owners, project managers, design teams, and contractors.
• Evaluate and communicate the impacts of cost, risk, and schedule.
• Coordinate cost data from contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, procurement, and A/Es.
• Engage in value engineering and design optioneering activities.
• Prepare funding data, executive cost presentations, and reporting materials.
• Assist in the commercial management of electrical, utility, MEP, civil, site-work, EV charging, and fleet-support infrastructure.
• Manage cost and change implications associated with phased delivery, fast-track construction, and changing operational requirements.
• Generate monthly cost reports, forecasts, and commercial dashboards.
• Oversee commission financial performance, margins, and resource forecasting using internal systems.
• Implement Turner & Townsend's business management systems and delivery methodologies.
• Mentor and coach junior staff members.
• Comply with relevant SOX control responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related construction field.
• Experience in the EV sector is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant cost management or quantity surveying experience in construction.
• Proven track record in delivering cost management services on medium to large, complex construction projects.
• Preferred experience in mission-critical, industrial, infrastructure, or campus-scale environments.
• A background in construction consultancy or client-side cost management is strongly preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, valuations, change control, and final accounts.
• Experience in supporting MEP-intensive works, infrastructure packages, and utility-driven construction scopes.
• RICS accreditation or progress towards chartership is preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
• Competitive base salary ranging from $130K to $150K.
