Estimator IV

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Assist AECOM’s expanding Energy Practice with Engineering Service Initiatives.

• Deliver estimating services across the Power, Nuclear, Industrial, Generation, Renewable, and Oil & Gas sectors.

• Gain expertise in the company's estimating systems and procedures.

• Compile various types of estimates utilizing estimating terminology, measures, concepts, and principles.

• Evaluate how processes, project actions, and assumptions influence estimates and quantify their effects.

• Leverage estimates to foresee key project challenges.

• Prepare and/or coordinate comprehensive project estimates.

• Provide both conceptual and final estimating contributions.

• Implement construction methods, means, and sequences for a single discipline.

• Execute all facets of estimating.

• Assist with Estimate Plans and Estimate Bases.

• Independently assess, select, adapt, and modify standard estimating techniques, procedures, and criteria.

• Offer guidance to less experienced estimating staff.

• Develop wage rate build-ups.

• Interpret drawings, specifications, Requests-for-Proposals, and contracts.

• Create detailed material take-offs for the procurement of bulk materials.

• Apply AECOM cost structure elements, including overheads, G&A, and insurance.

• Construct cash flow schedules and estimates.

• Prepare scope and bid package breakdowns for subcontractor and vendor quotes.

• Conduct subcontract bid analyses regarding scope, cost, and pricing.

• Utilize Earned Value Management System theory and practices.

• Work remotely and/or from Energy offices located throughout various regions in the United States.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field, along with 6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience and/or education.

• Preferred: Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with 10 years of relevant experience.

• Proven experience with estimating software such as WINEstimator, Timberline, Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE), or Heavy Bid.

• Solid understanding of Civil, Structural, and Architectural disciplines.

• Familiarity with estimating software systems.

• Comprehension of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) theory and its application.

• Capability to read and interpret discipline drawings for takeoffs and quantity verification.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship for employment authorization is not currently available nor will it be in the future.

• Must participate in in-person onboarding on Day 1 at an AECOM office.
