Estimator – Cost Manager, EV Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Serve as the main commercial point of contact for the client throughout the design and construction phases.

• Deliver services related to cost planning, estimating, and forecasting.

• Create and present cost plans at essential design and construction milestones.

• Develop and uphold processes for cost control, change management, and commercial governance.

• Assess, review, negotiate, and oversee construction change orders.

• Evaluate contractor and subcontractor pricing for precision, entitlement, and value for money.

• Oversee contingency management, commitment tracking, cost-to-complete forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Conduct post-contract quantity surveying, cost control, valuations, and payment certifications.

• Execute interim valuations, cost verifications, and commercial audits.

• Analyze and provide written evaluations on contractor submissions.

• Manage the cost and commercial facets of contracts.

• Negotiate, finalize, and close out final accounts.

• Compile data on built costs and maintain benchmarking records.

• Work collaboratively with owners, project managers, design teams, and contractors.

• Evaluate and communicate implications related to cost, risk, and schedule.

• Coordinate cost information from general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, direct procurement, and A/Es.

• Engage in value engineering and design optioneering processes.

• Prepare funding data, executive cost presentations, and reporting materials.

• Assist in the commercial management of electrical distribution, utility upgrades, MEP-heavy building systems, site works, civil packages, phased construction, EV charging, and fleet-support infrastructure.

• Manage the cost and change impacts associated with phased delivery, fast-track construction, and changing operational needs.

• Generate monthly cost reports, forecasts, and commercial dashboards.

• Utilize internal systems for managing commission financial performance, margins, and resource forecasts.

• Implement Turner & Townsend Business Management Systems and delivery methodologies.

• Identify, mentor, and coach junior team members.

• Comply with relevant SOX control responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related construction field.

• 5+ years of pertinent experience in cost management or quantity surveying in the construction sector.

• Demonstrated experience in providing cost management services on medium to large, intricate construction projects.

• Preferably experienced in mission-critical, industrial, infrastructure, or campus-scale environments.

• Strongly preferred background in construction consultancy or client-side cost management.

• Comprehensive knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, valuations, change control, and final account procedures.

• Experience in supporting MEP-intensive work, infrastructure packages, and utility-driven construction scopes.

• EV sector experience is preferred but not mandatory.

• RICS accreditation or progress toward chartership is desirable.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within integrated project teams.

• Proximity to the SF Bay Area and capability to engage locally with project teams and stakeholders is considered a significant advantage.
