Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Analyze tender documents, drawings, technical specifications, and contractual obligations.

• Develop, organize, and validate comprehensive project cost estimates.

• Assess quantities, production rates, man-hours, material, and equipment needs.

• Evaluate different design and execution methods to determine the most effective solution.

• Review constructability, logistics, phasing, planning, and safety aspects.

• Solicit, analyze, and compare bids from suppliers and subcontractors.

• Identify and assess project risks and opportunities.

• Collaborate closely with internal experts to question assumptions and enhance the proposed project strategy.

• Present and support calculations during tender evaluations.

• Ensure a seamless transition to the project team following contract award.

• Contribute to the strategy, feasibility, and competitiveness of civil and marine infrastructure initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• You have experience in cost estimation, calculations, and analyzing technical project data.

• Previous roles as a Calculator, Estimator, Work Planner, Project Engineer, or Site/Project Execution Engineer are highly beneficial.

• You have a keen interest in civil works, infrastructure projects, and/or marine construction.

• You combine strong technical knowledge with a commercial perspective.

• You are adept at evaluating quantities, production rates, man-hours, material, and equipment needs.

• You work meticulously and methodically while keeping an eye on the overall project vision.

• You are analytical, critical, and solution-focused, and you are willing to question assumptions to discover improved methods.

• You enjoy collaborating within a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

• You are fluent in both Dutch and English, in written and spoken forms.

• You are proficient in Excel and comfortable using specialized estimation, planning, and project management tools.

• Depending on the tender or project, you are open to occasional visits to project sites, suppliers, or subcontractors.
