Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Collect information and requirements while establishing priorities for tasks to be completed.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs and production estimates.

• Assess and interpret construction drawings.

• Develop construction budgets derived from project plans and specifications.

• Identify and forecast costs for each elevation.

• Review purchase offers by evaluating changes, additions, and site requirements.

• Acquire vendor and subcontractor bids by detailing materials, recognizing qualified subcontractors, and negotiating prices.

• Maintain cost keys and pricing databases.

• Address cost discrepancies by gathering and analyzing relevant information.

• Generate special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

• Ensure quality service in alignment with organizational standards.

• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs across corporate, divisional, and local teams.

• Enhance professional and technical expertise through workshops, publications, networks, and professional organizations.

• Collaborate with Project Management to create proposals.

• Work with Construction Management to establish production rates, schedule milestones, and job sequences.

• Contribute to team efforts and achieve related outcomes as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; 8+ years is preferred.

• Experience in concrete estimating is required.

• A strong focus on quality.

• Preferred experience in tilt-up and commercial flatwork.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Proficient in budget management and documentation.

• Experience in vendor relationship management.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.

• Familiarity with construction scheduling.

• Capable of developing and managing teams.

• Ability to identify and resolve complex issues and make effective decisions.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Travel is expected to be under 25%, with potential travel for meetings and job sites as necessary.

• Must pass a physical examination.

• Must be a US citizen.
