Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Collect project information and requirements while establishing priorities.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs and production estimates.

• Assess and interpret construction drawings.

• Develop construction budgets based on construction plans and project specifications.

• Identify and forecast costs for each elevation.

• Review purchase offers by evaluating changes, additions, and site requirements.

• Acquire and negotiate bids from vendors and subcontractors.

• Manage cost keys and price masters.

• Resolve cost discrepancies through data collection and analysis.

• Generate special reports on information and trends.

• Adhere to organizational standards to ensure quality service.

• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs across corporate, division, and local teams.

• Maintain professional and technical expertise through workshops, publications, networks, and professional societies.

• Collaborate with Project Management to create proposals.

• Work with Construction Management to establish production rates, schedule milestones, and job sequences.

• Participate in team efforts and achieve related outcomes as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience; 8+ years is preferred.

• Concrete estimating experience is essential.

• Quality-focused approach.

• Experience with tilt-up and commercial flatwork is preferred.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Proficient in budget management and documentation.

• Experience in vendor relationship management.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.

• Knowledge of construction scheduling.

• Capability to develop and manage teams.

• Ability to identify and resolve complex issues and make sound decisions.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Willingness to travel less than 25%, with potential travel to meetings and job sites as necessary.

• Must successfully pass a physical examination.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
