Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Collect information and establish priorities for tasks to be completed.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs and estimate production.

• Analyze and interpret construction blueprints.

• Create construction budgets by reviewing plans, revising specifications, and forecasting costs.

• Assess purchase offers by calculating changes, additions, and site specifications.

• Solicit bids from suppliers and subcontractors by detailing materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiating costs.

• Maintain cost keys and pricing databases.

• Address cost discrepancies by gathering and assessing information.

• Generate special reports by compiling, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

• Uphold quality service by adhering to organizational standards.

• Record and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs among corporate, division, and local teams.

• Enhance professional and technical expertise through workshops, publications, networks, and professional associations.

• Collaborate with Project Management to formulate proposals.

• Work alongside Construction Management to establish production rates, schedule milestones, and job sequences.

• Contribute to team initiatives by achieving related outcomes as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent work experience; 8+ years is preferred.

• Experience in concrete estimating.

• Strong focus on quality.

• Experience with tilt-up and commercial flatwork is preferred.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Strong skills in budgeting and documentation.

• Experience in managing vendor relationships.

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Adobe.

• Familiarity with construction scheduling.

• Capability to develop and lead teams.

• Ability to identify and address complex issues, making sound decisions.

• Must possess a current driver’s license.

• Willingness to travel under 25%, with potential travel for meetings and job sites as necessary.

• Must successfully pass a physical examination.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
