Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Collect information and requirements while establishing priorities for tasks to be completed.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs and production estimates.

• Assess and interpret construction drawings.

• Develop construction budgets by analyzing plans, updating specifications, and estimating costs.

• Review purchase offers by evaluating changes, additions, and site requirements.

• Acquire bids from vendors and subcontractors by detailing materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiating prices.

• Maintain cost keys and pricing masters.

• Address cost discrepancies through information collection and analysis.

• Create special reports on information and trends.

• Ensure quality service in accordance with organizational standards.

• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs across corporate, division, and local teams.

• Keep professional and technical knowledge current through workshops, publications, networks, and professional organizations.

• Collaborate with Project Management to formulate proposals.

• Work alongside Construction Management to establish production rates, schedule milestones, and job sequences.

• Contribute to team efforts and achieve related outcomes as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience; 8+ years is preferred.

• Required experience in concrete estimating.

• Quality-oriented.

• Preferred experience with tilt-up and commercial flatwork.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Excellent budget and documentation skills.

• Experience in vendor relationship management.

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.

• Familiarity with construction scheduling.

• Ability to develop and lead teams.

• Capability to identify and resolve complex issues and make sound decisions.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Willingness to travel less than 25%, with occasional travel to meetings and job sites as necessary.

• Must successfully pass a physical examination.

• Must be a US Citizen.
