Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nicaragua.

📋 Description

• Develop precise and comprehensive takeoff estimates for commercial projects, upscale residential constructions, and custom homes.

• Evaluate project scopes and technical drawings by utilizing benchmarks from previous projects and established methodologies.

• Collaborate with the owner to provide estimates that meet the company’s standards and quality expectations.

• Assist in the creation of shop drawings and technical design tasks using AutoCAD.

• Examine architectural plans and propose alternative, more efficient estimating or execution methods.

• Help with daily project management duties and cross-functional operational requirements.

• Engage in conversations regarding tools, process enhancements, and modern/AI-driven estimating tools to improve accuracy.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3 to 15+ years of demonstrated estimating experience in construction or metal trades.

• An engineering background (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering degree) or an equivalent construction/estimating experience.

• Strong knowledge in Division 7 work (waterproofing, metal roofing, exterior metal systems) or relevant expertise in structural steel/metal fabrication.

• Practical experience with takeoff estimating, technical drawing evaluation, and AutoCAD.

• Proven success in commercial projects, high-end residential builds, and custom homes.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Detail-oriented, highly cooperative, and willing to explore alternative or more efficient estimating methods.

• Fully available to work during Pacific Time business hours, 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week.

• Preferred: knowledge of multiple regional building codes.

• Preferred: experience in architectural design, architectural engineering, or shop drawing development.

• Preferred: background in interior structural work and exterior finishing systems.

• Preferred: ability to showcase company-specific estimating methods through a practical working session.
