This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the estimating team, oversee department proposal capacity, and guarantee proposal quality.
• Take ownership of specific departmental estimating templates and processes.
• Mentor and support team members for both professional and personal development.
• Oversee the creation of competitive, accurate project budgets in response to client RFPs.
• Analyze RFP documents to define scope, schedule, and design criteria.
• Execute and review detailed material takeoffs from design documents and plans.
• Manage the creation of proposal documents for client submission.
• Develop subcontractor bid packages, solicit pricing, and promote competitive solutions.
• Respond to subcontractor RFIs and assess, normalize, and select incoming bids.
• Foster collaboration between Estimating and Operations teams.
• Compile and administer pricing for utility-scale solar and storage projects.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of estimates prior to Preconstruction Leadership review.
• Identify and execute value-engineering opportunities in collaboration with Business Development, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations.
• Assist in client and subcontractor contract negotiations and updates to project pricing.
• Finalize subcontractor scopes, schedules, and budgets in conjunction with Procurement.
• Monitor budgets and analyze cost variances for prepared project estimates.
• Provide support to project teams regarding change orders and construction-related challenges.
• Offer historical context for design choices and vendor/subcontractor selections.
• Required experience in self-perform construction/estimating, utility-scale solar, and/or battery storage systems.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Strong coordination, time management, active listening, verbal and written communication, critical thinking, analytical, and reasoning abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a quick and independent learning capability.
• Dedication to both team and individual growth, staffing decisions, and resource management.
• Ability to identify issues and adapt as necessary.
• Excellent mathematical skills applicable to problem-solving.
• Proficient in computer literacy, specifically with MS Office.
• Strong Excel skills are essential.
• MS Project experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with Procore is a plus.
• A natural curiosity and results-oriented problem-solving approach.
• A Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field.
• Prior experience in self-perform estimating is required.
• Experience in subcontract tendering and response evaluation is necessary.
• Experience with solar and/or battery storage is required.
• Previous self-perform construction experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with B2W estimating software is preferred.
• Occasional travel for site visits, client meetings, industry events, and team-building activities.
