This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +10 more states.
• Deliver prompt and effective onsite equipment service to designated clients for Rotary Vacuum Chamber and other packaging machinery in protein processing facilities.
• Serve as a safety champion, prioritizing safety in all tasks and responsibilities.
• Comprehend customer needs related to issues with products and equipment.
• Maintain customer equipment to ensure peak performance of machinery, packaging films, and shrink bag materials.
• Offer preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical assistance for Rotary Chamber and other flexible plastic packaging equipment at client sites utilizing Amcor materials.
• Keep precise and timely documentation of work activities and time management.
• Support the installation and initiation of packaging systems produced and marketed by AFNA.
• Aid in the refurbishment of Rotary Chamber equipment at Amcor’s RE&D facility in New London, WI.
• Contribute insights into the design, installation, and initiation of packaging equipment created by external suppliers or RE&D.
• Conduct customer training sessions on the proper use and upkeep of equipment.
• Participate in projects and lead smaller tasks within broader project frameworks.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, sales teams, and internal AFNA personnel.
• Complete necessary reporting within 5 days, submit expense reports within a month of business trips, and adhere to weekly scheduling timelines.
• Technical Degree or equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Certification and training in Mechatronics is preferred.
• 3 - 5 years of experience in the food packaging sector (materials & machinery).
• Willingness to travel 75% of the time or more.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Strong mechanical and electrical technical skills.
• Proficient in troubleshooting most packaging machine challenges.
• Capability to drive, stand, walk, manipulate tools and components, stoop, kneel, talk, hear, and possess good near and far vision acuity along with effective depth perception.
• Ability to climb and maintain balance.
• Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
