This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the complete lifecycle of interface development, which includes gathering requirements, designing, building, testing, implementing, providing go-live support, and ensuring ongoing maintenance.
• Create, implement, and maintain healthcare integrations utilizing FHIR APIs, RESTful web services, and contemporary interoperability frameworks.
• Work collaboratively with application teams, vendors, business stakeholders, and external partners to establish interface requirements and address integration-related challenges.
• Organize interface testing, cutover planning, and go-live procedures.
• Collaborate with interface engine developers to develop data translation and transformation logic for EHR and third-party system integrations.
• Facilitate integrations between Epic and both internal and external applications using traditional and modern interoperability approaches.
• Assess, design, and execute interoperability solutions that support real-time clinical and operational data exchange.
• Monitor production interfaces and facilitate permanent resolutions through root cause analysis and corrective measures.
• Examine, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to HL7 messages, FHIR resources, APIs, authentication methods, and data exchange workflows.
• Act as an escalation point for intricate integration and interoperability challenges.
• Review integration workflows and data to spot opportunities for optimization, automation, and enhanced performance.
• Ensure that integration solutions adhere to security, privacy, and data governance standards.
• Create and maintain interface documentation, testing plans, support procedures, technical specifications, architecture documents, and data flow diagrams.
• Assist with system upgrades, application enhancements, and interoperability projects.
• Contribute to best practices in interface development, support, and monitoring.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Epic Bridges Certification is mandatory and must be maintained as a condition of employment.
• A minimum of 6 years in an IT, systems integration, interface, or interoperability-related position.
• Experience in supporting healthcare application integrations and data exchanges between clinical systems and external partners.
• Practical experience in supporting FHIR implementations and API-based healthcare integrations.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, web services, and healthcare interoperability technologies.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and supporting healthcare interoperability solutions in production settings.
• Experience in coordinating testing, implementation, cutover, and go-live support activities.
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities in complex integration environments.
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 v2, FHIR, APIs, and modern integration architectures.
• Capability to analyze data, identify root causes, and effectively communicate solutions.
• Understanding of how business and operational needs translate into technical integration designs.
• Strong coordination and project management skills across various teams and vendors.
