Environmental Remediation Area Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Supervise the effectiveness of key programs and projects to meet both internal and client-oriented KPIs.

• Propel program performance, business outcomes, client satisfaction, and the achievement of KPIs.

• Recognize and proactively manage governance and risk management challenges.

• Create solutions for client challenges and concerns.

• Analyze program and project dashboards to pinpoint issues and enhance performance.

• Encourage the adoption of digital tools and integrate Enterprise Capabilities into project execution.

• Oversee high-quality client projects while maintaining the execution of billable work.

• Share responsibilities for managing approximately 50 staff within the department.

• Establish and nurture relationships with three multinational chemical company client organizations.

• Resolve significant issues and provide prompt follow-up on concerns.

• Formulate succession plans and provide guidance on recruiting essential personnel.

• Mentor, train, and coach project managers and team members.

• Assess the performance of project managers.

• Collaborate with account, practice, and business-line leaders to expand profitable backlogs.

• Create budgets for business development portfolio management and project oversight.

• Lead capture strategies for essential pursuits and major projects.

• Elevate project issues and address concerns related to resourcing, technical aspects, invoicing, cash collection, subconsultants, and vendors.

• Promote consistent project management practices in accordance with AECOM PDS and QMS standards.

• Ensure the accuracy of the Workload Planning Tool, Salesforce pipeline, and Detailed Forecast outputs.

• Uphold compliance with West Region Environment Pricing guidance and the DOA approval framework.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or a proven equivalent of experience and/or education.

• A master's degree is preferred.

• A preference for 15 years of related experience.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the environmental and remediation business, including risk-based strategic asset management.

• Experience advocating for environmental consulting across multiple state jurisdictions.

• California Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer certification is preferred.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Capacity to influence others towards a shared vision or objective.

• Ability to be flexible and adaptable in uncertain situations.

• Resilient and determined with a strong inclination to persevere.

• Capability to work collaboratively within a team.

• Strong business acumen and insight into organizational challenges and issues.

• Must be able to pass a background check.

• Must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check.

• US citizenship or permanent residency is required.
