
Environmental Remediation Area Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Supervise the performance of a range of significant environmental programs and projects.
• Propel program performance to achieve or surpass client satisfaction and internal/client-facing KPIs.
• Manage governance, identify risks, conduct project reviews, create dashboards, and enhance performance.
• Formulate solutions to client challenges and promote the adoption of digital tools.
• Carry out billable Environmental Site Assessment and Remediation tasks.
• Oversee and share people-management duties for around 50 departmental staff members.
• Foster relationships with three multinational chemical company client organizations.
• Address major issues to support client satisfaction and facilitate long-term growth.
• Create succession plans, provide recruitment advice, and mentor project delivery personnel.
• Guide project managers and team members on business performance and internal KPIs.
• Cultivate a profitable backlog and ensure financial success in collaboration with account, practice area, and business line leaders.
• Develop business development budgets and lead capture strategies for key pursuits and significant projects.
• Escalate project-related issues and handle concerns regarding resourcing, technical aspects, invoicing, cash collection, subconsultants, and vendors.
• Implement project management practices consistent with AECOM Project Delivery System and Quality Management System standards.
• Ensure precise workload planning, compliance with pricing, adherence to approval frameworks, accurate Salesforce pipeline data, and detailed forecasts.
• A Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience, or a proven equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Must successfully pass a motor vehicle records check.
• US citizenship or permanent residency is required.
• Sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
• A Master's Degree is preferred.
• 15 years of related experience is preferred.
• California Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer certification is preferred.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Resilient and determined, with a tendency to persist.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Strong business acumen and awareness of organizational issues and challenges.
• Extensive knowledge and a proven track record in the environmental/remediation sector.
• Experience in risk-based strategic asset management and advocacy across multiple state jurisdictions for an environmental consultant.
