
Environmental Project Specialist - Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assist Project Managers with projects in various phases of planning, environmental compliance, permitting, and documentation.
• Evaluate project materials, conduct analysis, create spreadsheets, perform data entry, maintain project tracking, and manage database entries along with quality assurance tasks.
• Aid project managers in ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
• Contribute to enhancing program efficiencies and assist with schedule management.
• Provide peer training as necessary.
• Carry out environmental desktop assessments of sensitive resources.
• Support monitoring of environmental construction activities.
• Draft and review reports.
• Engage with company professionals and client representatives.
• Uphold confidentiality standards.
• Comply with Company safety protocols and OSHA regulations, and participate in required safety training.
• Stay updated on industry developments through formal training, professional publications, and workshops.
• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in planning, environmental science, biology, ecology, archaeology, or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of professional experience as an environmental scientist/specialist, biologist, ecologist, planner, or a comparable role in California, particularly in environmental consulting.
• Familiarity with current environmental regulations, including CESA, FESA, CEQA, NEPA, Section 106, among others.
• Experience with project management tasks.
• Capability to function effectively under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines.
• Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to identify issues and proactively develop suitable solutions.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication abilities.
• Energetic team player with robust problem-solving skills and capacity to manage various tasks and priorities.
• Excellent organizational and management capabilities.
• Skill in communicating within a team-oriented environment to foster and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and leadership.
• Proficiency in computer-aided software (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, ArcGIS, etc.).
• Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions for presentation to supervisors.
• Must adhere to safe work practices by following Company safety policies and OSHA regulations, including participation in required safety training programs.
• Ability to uphold confidentiality.
