Environmental Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Provide support for all aspects of environmental management and compliance, from land acquisition to data center operations.

• Assist in the implementation, ongoing enhancement, and maintenance of the Environmental Compliance Program.

• Help ensure adherence to local and federal compliance requirements.

• Collaborate with Development Teams to offer technical assistance, guidance, and resources for site compliance.

• Foster a robust environmental management program within STACK Americas.

• Oversee due diligence processes, which include Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, noise studies, air permitting, SWPPP, SPCC, and Tier II activities.

• Review and communicate findings from environmental consultants and internal teams.

• Present recommendations to a variety of stakeholders across different functions.

• Create and conduct training sessions focused on environmental compliance and management.

• Provide technical assistance to Critical Operations regarding permit and compliance duties at active data centers.

• Stay informed about evolving environmental regulations and policies, advising on strategies to support development initiatives.

• Develop scopes of work, coordinate bids from third-party consultants, manage projects, and review environmental reports and outputs.

• Report directly to the Director of Environment, Health & Safety and actively contribute to the EHS team.


⛳️ Requirements

• 7–10+ years of experience in environmental management.

• Skilled in managing and overseeing multiple projects related to environmental due diligence, remediation, permitting, and compliance.

• Solid understanding of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, noise studies, NEPA, SWPPP, SPCC, and Tier II.

• Required experience in air permitting.

• Preferred background in data center project development.

• Experience with Virginia environmental regulations is preferred.

• Competency in developing scopes of work, coordinating bids from third-party consultants, managing projects, and reviewing environmental reports and deliverables.

• Experience in implementing and managing ISO 14001 certifications is preferred.

• Excellent communication, analytical, decision-making, prioritization, team-building, and continuous improvement skills.

• Willingness to travel 15–35% of the time.
