Environmental Field Services Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Assist in emergency response and natural disaster initiatives involving environmental and hazardous materials situations.

• Perform environmental field assessments, including soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring well support, remediation oversight, and precise field data collection.

• Aid in the planning and implementation of sampling strategies.

• Maintain, calibrate, and operate field instruments.

• Contribute to environmental remediation and compliance projects through data management, quality assurance, technical reporting, permit documentation, and proposal development.

• Monitor project timelines, budgets, deliverables, and documentation.

• Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, laboratories, and regulatory bodies.

• Keep field logs, chain-of-custody records, timesheets, and electronic databases updated.

• Comply with OSHA, PPE, health, safety, and regulatory standards.

• Operate monitoring instruments independently and document measurements accurately.

• Prepare chain-of-custody forms for environmental samples.

• Travel to and from project locations.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific field from an accredited four-year institution.

• Required functional or advanced computer literacy in a Windows-based environment.

• Capability to comprehend and follow instructions.

• Experience in any branch of the armed forces is preferred.

• Familiarity and/or proficiency with industrial hygiene equipment is preferred.

• Experience using air and environmental sampling tools is preferred.

• Relevant background in emergency response, environmental response, construction management, etc., is desired.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times a day.

• Capacity to perform overhead lifting of over 20 pounds.

• Capability to bend, stoop, crawl, and climb ladders.

• Willingness to work extended hours, including overtime, weekends, overnight shifts, and occasionally 24-hour shifts.

• Readiness to travel frequently and on short notice for extended durations.

• Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, and extreme weather conditions.

• Comfort working in environments with physical, chemical, and biological hazards.

• Ability to wear necessary PPE, including partially or fully encapsulated PPE, at HAZWOPER sites under 29 CFR 1910.120.

• Qualified to drive noncommercial vehicles.
