This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct validation of chemical data and perform independent technical assessments of both inorganic and organic analytical laboratory data packages.
• Assess laboratory deliverables for thoroughness and adherence to compliance standards, evaluate quality control outcomes, and apply data validation qualifiers.
• Supervise and review Stage 2 data validation carried out by junior and mid-level chemists.
• Draft data validation narratives, QA/QC reports, and evaluations of data usability.
• Write, review, and implement UFP-QAPPs along with relevant quality assurance documentation.
• Assist in environmental field sampling by setting up databases, identifying samples, creating labels, managing chain-of-custody documentation, and conducting compliance reviews.
• Oversee environmental samples and analytical data management throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Execute quality control assessments in EQuIS, ERPIMS, ADR.net, and FUDSChem.
• Query, analyze, and reconcile environmental data while verifying final database entries against laboratory outcomes.
• Manage analytical laboratory subcontractors, coordinate sample delivery and schedules, evaluate performance, and address QA/QC issues.
• Collaborate with project managers, environmental scientists, engineers, field personnel, laboratories, and data management teams.
• Offer technical expertise in analytical chemistry, laboratory methodologies, data quality, validation standards, and interpretation of chemical data.
• Assist with environmental investigations, site characterization, remediation, permitting, effluent monitoring, waste characterization and disposal, and restoration activities.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific field.
• Minimum of 10 years of pertinent experience in environmental chemistry, with a focus on validating inorganic and organic analytical data and managing environmental data/databases.
• Proven experience in validating analytical data for environmental investigations, remediation efforts, restoration projects, or compliance programs.
• Familiarity with PFAS analytical data and other emerging contaminants.
• Experience in overseeing and providing technical reviews for junior and mid-level chemists conducting Stage 2 data validation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of EPA SW-846 methods, Contract Laboratory Program (CLP) requirements, and methodologies in environmental analytical chemistry.
• Capability to assess laboratory QA/QC results and ascertain the usability and quality of environmental analytical data.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage responsibilities across multiple projects and competing deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Must successfully pass a Public Trust background investigation.
