Environmental and Safety Professional

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Assist in the FAA's Environmental Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) initiatives.

• Deliver environmental and safety assistance across various areas, including IAQ, Asbestos, Lead, PCB, Chemical/Hazardous Waste, Pesticides, Drinking Water, Fuel Storage Tanks, Fall Protection, Hearing Safety, Electrical Safety, Confined Space, and Radiation programs.

• Perform site inspections and evaluations.

• Prepare technical reports detailing findings and recommendations to address or alleviate EOSH concerns.

• Draft reports under tight deadlines.

• Collect and analyze analytical reports to identify exceedances.

• Oversee inspections utilizing electronic data and online data storage systems.

• Utilize Microsoft applications and manage information within KSN/SharePoint platforms.

• Research and interpret Federal, State, Local, and FAA EOSH policies and regulations.

• Provide direct support and customer service to various clients, including senior management.

• Deliver technical EOSH training to staff members.

• Conduct tower safety inspections and assist with fall protection efforts.

• Travel to client locations, including Memphis, as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with applicable experience.

• Experience in environmental, health, and safety fields.

• Familiarity with EOSH field equipment, such as PID, XRF, and Dosimeter.

• Experience in obtaining and creating Asbestos samples and reports.

• Proficient in conducting and generating indoor air quality (IAQ) samples and reports.

• Technical expertise in Fall Protection and Electrical Safety assessments and documentation.

• Experience in obtaining and creating Drinking Water samples and reports.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project.

• Ability to manage information within a Knowledge Sharing Network (KSN)/SharePoint sites.

• Access to a reliable vehicle.

• Capability to acquire and maintain Public Trust Clearance.

• Must reside in the Fayetteville or Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina areas.

• Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight trips.

• Ability to climb towers and/or receive and deliver fall protection training and conduct tower safety inspections.

• Capacity to provide comprehensive technical EOSH training.

• Strong skills in customer service, problem-solving, independent work, and teamwork.
