Entry Level Background Investigator – Top Secret Clearance Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough interviews with subjects, employers, associates, references, and other informed individuals.

• Utilize technology, electronic tools, and various systems concurrently during investigations.

• Examine relevant records to gather essential facts.

• Address all significant issues in a case to ascertain the subject’s background, reputation, character, suitability, or qualifications.

• Perform interviews through Virtual Teleconference, phone calls, and in-person meetings, with VTC being the primary approach.

• Participate in an extensive multi-week virtual online training program.

• Engage in additional shadowing and mentorship with a seasoned Investigator.

• May require travel across the U.S. for temporary duty assignments, typically lasting two weeks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of relevant experience showing progressive responsibility in problem-solving, planning, organizing work, and effective oral and written communication.

• Active Top Secret Clearance based on a T5 investigation.

• Capability to secure and retain a favorable determination following a T5 Investigation.

• Strong commitment to supporting national security initiatives.

• Exceptional work ethic, integrity, and a proactive, positive attitude.

• Proficient in navigating and utilizing multiple technology systems concurrently to enhance workflow efficiency and productivity.

• Valid driver’s license, dependable personal vehicle, and readiness to travel locally based on assignment location.

• Home office must be equipped with reliable high-speed Internet access.

• Ability to sit, type, stand, or walk for extended durations.

• Outstanding time management skills and capability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Excellent written and oral communication abilities.

• Proficient in conveying complex or sensitive information effectively to individuals or groups.

• Skilled in active listening, responding appropriately to nonverbal cues, and delivering clear, persuasive oral presentations.

• Capacity to cultivate strong relationships with diverse individuals and manage challenging situations with professionalism and tact.

• Proficient in correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; ability to communicate information succinctly and in an organized fashion.

• Ability to generate written content, including technical materials tailored for the intended audience.
