Entry Level Background Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough interviews with subjects, employers, colleagues, references, and other informed parties.

• Examine relevant records to gather factual information.

• Address all significant issues pertaining to a case.

• Determine the background, reputation, character, suitability, or qualifications of individuals being investigated.

• Perform interviews utilizing virtual teleconferencing, telephone, and in-person methods, with VTC as the primary approach.

• Participate in a multiweek intensive virtual training program conducted online.

• Engage in additional shadowing and mentorship activities with an experienced Investigator.

• May require travel across the U.S. for temporary duty assignments, typically lasting two weeks.

• Bachelor’s Degree or four years of general experience illustrating progressive responsibility in problem-solving, work planning and organization, and effective oral and written communication.

• Capability to obtain and sustain a favorable determination based on a T5 Investigation.

• Strong commitment to supporting national security initiatives.

• Unwavering work ethic, integrity, and a proactive, positive attitude.

• Proficient in navigating and utilizing multiple technology systems concurrently.

• Valid driver’s license, dependable personal vehicle, and readiness to travel locally based on assignment location.

• Home office should be equipped with reliable high-speed Internet access.

• Capacity to sit, type, stand, or walk for extended durations.

• Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient in conveying complex or sensitive information effectively.

• Able to listen attentively, respond appropriately to nonverbal cues, and deliver clear and persuasive oral presentations.

• Skilled in maintaining strong relationships with a diverse range of individuals and managing challenging situations with tact and professionalism.

• Proficient in correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

• Capable of presenting information in a concise and organized manner, producing written content suitable for the intended audience.

• Active Top Secret Clearance based on a T5 is preferred.
