Entry Level Background Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough interviews with subjects, employers, colleagues, references, and other informed individuals.

• Analyze relevant records to gather pertinent facts.

• Address significant issues in cases.

• Determine the background, reputation, character, suitability, or qualifications of subjects under investigation.

• Perform interviews through virtual teleconferencing, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings, prioritizing VTC as the main method.

• Participate in an intensive multi-week virtual online training program.

• Engage in additional shadowing and mentorship with a seasoned Investigator.

• May require travel within the U.S. for temporary duty assignments, typically lasting two weeks.

• Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience showcasing progressive responsibility in problem-solving, planning, organization, and effective communication both orally and in writing.

• Capability to obtain and uphold a favorable determination from a T5 Investigation.

• Strong commitment to supporting national security initiatives.

• Exemplary work ethic, integrity, and a positive, proactive attitude.

• Proficiency in navigating and utilizing multiple technology systems concurrently.

• Possession of a current driver’s license, a dependable personal vehicle, and willingness to travel locally based on assignment locations.

• Home office situated within a reasonable distance to workload areas.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection.

• Ability to sit, type, stand, or walk for extended durations.

• Outstanding time management and prioritization skills.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Ability to convey complex or sensitive information effectively.

• Capability to listen attentively, respond appropriately to nonverbal cues, and deliver clear oral presentations.

• Ability to foster relationships with a diverse range of individuals and manage challenging situations with professionalism.

• Proficient in correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

• Active Top Secret Clearance based on a T5 is a desirable asset.
