Entry Level Background Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough interviews with subjects, employers, associates, references, and other knowledgeable individuals.

• Review relevant records to gather factual information.

• Resolve all significant issues in cases.

• Determine the background, reputation, character, suitability, or qualifications of subjects under investigation.

• Perform interviews using virtual teleconference, phone, and in-person meetings, with virtual teleconferencing as the primary method.

• Participate in multi-week intensive virtual training.

• Complete additional shadowing and mentorship with an experienced Investigator.

• May require travel across the U.S. for temporary duty assignments, typically lasting 2 weeks.

• Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of general experience demonstrating progressive responsibility in problem-solving, planning, and organizing work, as well as effective oral and written communication.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable determination based on a T5 Investigation.

• Strong commitment to supporting national security initiatives.

• Exceptional work ethic, integrity, and a positive, can-do attitude.

• Capability to navigate and utilize multiple technology systems concurrently.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Access to a reliable personal vehicle.

• Willingness to travel locally based on assignment location.

• Home office situated within a reasonable distance to workload areas.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection.

• Ability to sit, type, stand, or walk for extended durations.

• Excellent time management skills and capacity to prioritize effectively.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

• Skill in conveying complex or sensitive information effectively.

• Ability to listen attentively, respond appropriately to nonverbal cues, and deliver clear and persuasive oral presentations.

• Capacity to build strong relationships with diverse individuals and manage challenging situations with tact and professionalism.

• Proficient use of correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

• Active Top Secret Clearance based on a T5 is a desirable asset.
