This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Develop and manage the company's enterprise risk function.
• Create and implement a comprehensive enterprise risk management framework that facilitates safe growth, regulatory compliance, and informed decision-making.
• Proactively identify, evaluate, monitor, and report on key risks.
• Ensure alignment of enterprise risk management with regulatory expectations and the company's strategic goals.
• Establish risk appetite and evaluate resilience under stress conditions.
• Assist in capital and liquidity planning efforts.
• Assess new products and strategic initiatives through a well-defined risk perspective.
• Convert complex risk data into actionable insights for senior management and governance entities.
• Promote transparency, accountability, and effective oversight.
• Expand and enhance the enterprise risk and reporting function as the company evolves and seeks licensing.
• 6–10+ years of experience in enterprise risk management, regulatory risk, or a related field within a regulated financial services or banking setting.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Business, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise risk frameworks, including Risk Appetite, RCSA, scenario analysis, stress testing, and ICAAP.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements applicable to banks or payment institutions, particularly regarding capital, liquidity, and operational risk.
• Experience with regulatory reporting and engagement with supervisors, auditors, and internal governance bodies.
• Strong analytical capabilities with an aptitude for translating complex risk and financial information into clear management and regulatory reports.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage, challenge, and influence senior stakeholders and regulators.
• Capacity to work independently with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating effectively across various functions.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment skills.
• Professional risk or finance certifications such as CFA, or equivalent, are highly preferred.
