Enterprise Architect – Emerging Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish and promote data analytics methodologies throughout Allstate

• Offer strategic direction on data ingestion, integration, visualization, advanced analytics, and generative AI

• Spearhead the implementation of large-scale data lakes and modernization of data lakehouses

• Collaborate with senior leaders, engineers, architects, business stakeholders, security, and engineering teams

• Propel the advancement of a scalable and secure enterprise data platform

• Engage with strategic customers and integrate future business requirements into the enterprise data strategy

• Supervise the rollout of strategic data products and analytics services

• Develop proofs of concept for cloud-native data microservices, IaaS, metadata-driven frameworks, and DevOps practices

• Design and oversee data models, data flows, and integration patterns for data lakes, lakehouses, and consumption layers

• Assist delivery leaders and engineers with conceptual, logical, and physical architecture

• Collaborate on and create high-priority cloud-platform prototypes to showcase solution value and feasibility

• Participate in all project phases and lead architecture initiatives

• Convey architecture initiatives to senior and executive leadership

• Shape the development of cloud data, analytics, and AI platforms across Allstate

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

• Substantial experience in building proofs of concept with at least 1–2 successful enterprise implementations

• 10–15 years of experience across at least two IT disciplines, including data architecture, cloud architecture, analytics and data science, big data technologies, database management, or data governance and security

• 5+ years of practical experience in implementing and performance-tuning MPP databases, such as Oracle Exadata, Teradata, Netezza, or Greenplum

• Practical experience in leading solution architecture for cloud data platforms with major cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

• Experience in designing analytics environments for data visualization, model development tools, and AI-driven data agents

• Hands-on experience with business intelligence tools like Microsoft Power BI or Tableau

• Familiarity with analyzing data warehouses and cloud data warehouses such as Teradata, Netezza, Oracle, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, or Snowflake

• Experience in designing database environments, analyzing production deployments, and optimizing performance

• Practical experience in architecting and constructing secure, scalable, and flexible enterprise data projects using AWS, Microsoft Fabric, on-premises, and cloud-native platforms

• Expertise in developing secure, scalable data ingestion and ETL/ELT solutions utilizing server-based and serverless tools

• Knowledge of data warehouse structures, dimensional modeling, and key definitions using ERWIN or similar tools

• Experience with data structures and models for microservices environments, data lakes, cloud lakehouses, and downstream applications

• Proven experience leading large-scale enterprise data warehousing initiatives

• Strong SQL proficiency

• Product development mindset and expertise in CI/CD pipelines

• Familiarity with big data platforms, SQL, and NoSQL databases

• Collaborative influence, intellectual humility, and enterprise-first decision-making

• Experience in prioritizing projects that address trade-offs

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills, combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution

• Experience in driving architectural direction across multiple teams and organizations

• Background investigation required
