English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students fundamental English skills for ACT and SAT preparation

• Monitor student progress through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum

• Provide students with individualized growth and improvement opportunities

• Organize and update student lesson schedules

• Hold students accountable for completing assignments

• Demonstrate professionalism and strong organizational skills through timely communication with students

• Design and creatively implement evolving lesson plans and curriculum

• Support middle and high school students during the college application process with empathy

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.)

• Teaching experience in English and/or a minimum of 1 year of experience in a college-level Writing Center

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., 3.5+ GPA)

• Strong verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites

• Access to a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions

• Commitment to working during the specified hours of operation

• Preferred experience teaching at the college or community college level

• Solid understanding of classroom pedagogy

• Ability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans using practical, real-world examples

• Passion for helping students achieve their highest potential

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
