English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students fundamental English skills to ensure long-term comprehension and achieve high ACT/SAT scores.

• Monitor student progress using Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Provide individualized growth and improvement opportunities for students.

• Organize and update lesson schedules for students.

• Hold students accountable for completing assignments.

• Demonstrate professionalism and strong organizational abilities.

• Communicate promptly with students.

• Design and creatively implement evolving lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities field from accredited US institutions (such as English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., a GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suite applications.

• Access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal distractions.

• Commitment to working during the designated hours of operation.

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level is preferred.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Ability to design customized, engaging lesson plans utilizing practical, real-world examples.

• A passion for helping students achieve their utmost potential.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
