English Instructor, FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills to ensure long-term comprehension and achieve high ACT and SAT scores.

• Monitor student advancement through Vanguard’s multi-phase educational program.

• Engage students in personalized growth and improvement initiatives.

• Maintain and regularly update student lesson plans.

• Hold students accountable for completing their assignments.

• Exemplify professionalism and strong organizational abilities through prompt communication with students.

• Develop and creatively implement dynamic lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students throughout the college application process.

• Availability during operational hours: Tuesday–Thursday, 1:30 pm–9:30 pm CST; Saturday–Sunday, 9:30 am–5:30 pm CST.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from U.S. institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., 3.5+ GPA).

• Exceptional verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.

• Access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal distractions.

• Commitment to working during the specified operational hours.

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level is preferred.

• Understanding of classroom pedagogy and the ability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
