English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills to foster long-term comprehension and achieve high scores on ACT and SAT examinations.

• Monitor student progress using Vanguard’s comprehensive multi-phase curriculum.

• Engage students in personalized growth and improvement initiatives.

• Organize and update student lesson schedules regularly.

• Hold students accountable for completing their assignments.

• Demonstrate professionalism and strong organizational abilities through timely communication with students.

• Design and creatively implement evolving lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application journey.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (such as English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• A Master's degree or higher is preferred.

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., a GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.

• A reliable internet connection and a workspace that is free from significant noise or distractions.

• A commitment to work during the specified hours of operation.

• Experience in teaching at the college or community college level is preferred.

• A solid understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to create tailored, engaging lesson plans utilizing practical, real-world examples.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
