English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students the essential English skills necessary for lasting comprehension and achieving high scores on the ACT and SAT.

• Monitor student advancement through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Provide students with personalized growth and enhancement opportunities.

• Organize and update student lesson schedules consistently.

• Ensure students are accountable for their assignments.

• Demonstrate professionalism and strong organizational abilities by maintaining timely communication with students.

• Design and creatively implement dynamic lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application journey.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (such as English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., a GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Suites.

• A reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise and distractions.

• Willingness to work during the specified operational hours.

• Preferred experience in teaching at the college or community college level.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans utilizing practical, real-world examples.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
