English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills for lasting comprehension and elevated ACT/SAT scores

• Monitor student progress using Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum

• Encourage students to engage in personalized growth and improvement opportunities

• Organize and update student lesson schedules

• Hold students responsible for their assignments

• Exemplify professionalism and strong organizational skills through timely communication with students

• Design and creatively implement dynamic lesson plans and curriculum

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application process

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.)

• Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in English and/or experience within a college-level Writing Center

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., 3.5+ GPA)

• Excellent verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites

• Reliable internet connection and a workspace free from noise and distractions

• Willingness to work during specified operational hours

• Preferred experience in teaching at the college or community college level

• Knowledge of classroom pedagogy and the ability to craft customized, engaging lesson plans

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
