This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
β’ Teach small groups of students core English skills to ensure long-term comprehension and high scores on ACT and SAT examinations.
β’ Monitor student progress through Vanguardβs multi-phase curriculum.
β’ Engage students in personalized growth and improvement opportunities.
β’ Maintain and regularly update student lesson schedules.
β’ Hold students accountable for completing assignments.
β’ Exhibit professionalism and strong organizational skills through timely communication with students.
β’ Develop and creatively implement evolving lesson plans and curriculum.
β’ Guide middle and high school students throughout the college application process.
β’ Bachelor's degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).
β’ At least one year of teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center.
β’ Proven academic excellence (e.g., minimum 3.5 GPA).
β’ Excellent verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language.
β’ Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Suite.
β’ Must have access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise and distractions.
β’ Commitment to working during specified hours of operation.
β’ Experience teaching at the college or community college level.
β’ Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.
β’ Ability to design customized, engaging lesson plans using practical, real-world examples.
β’ Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
