English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills for long-lasting comprehension and improved ACT/SAT performance

• Monitor student development through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum

• Involve students in personalized growth and enhancement opportunities

• Organize and refresh student lesson schedules

• Ensure students are accountable for their assignments

• Exhibit professionalism and excellent organizational skills through prompt communication with students

• Design and creatively implement evolving lesson plans and curriculum

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application journey

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from US institutions (such as English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.); Master’s degree or higher preferred

• Experience teaching English and/or working in a college-level Writing Center (minimum 1 year)

• Proven academic achievement (e.g., GPA of 3.5 or higher)

• Excellent verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Suite

• Access to a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions

• Dedication to working during the specified operational hours

• Teaching experience at the college or community college level

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy

• Capability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans utilizing practical, real-world examples

• Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively within a team
