English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students core English skills to ensure long-term comprehension and achieve high ACT and SAT scores.

• Monitor student progress through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Involve students in personalized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Keep student lesson schedules updated and maintained.

• Hold students accountable for their assignments.

• Demonstrate professionalism and strong organizational skills through prompt communication with students.

• Design and creatively implement evolving lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities field from US institutions (such as English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., a GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• Dependable internet connection and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions.

• Willingness to work during specified operational hours.

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to develop engaging, customized lesson plans using practical, real-world examples.

• Ability to function both independently and as part of a team.
