English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills to foster lasting comprehension and achieve high scores on ACT and SAT examinations.

• Monitor student advancement through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Involve students in personalized growth and improvement initiatives.

• Keep student lesson schedules up to date.

• Ensure students are accountable for their assignments.

• Exemplify professionalism and strong organizational abilities through prompt communication with students.

• Oversee the development and innovative implementation of evolving lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students throughout the college application journey.

• Available to work during the designated operating hours.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• Teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center (minimum of 1 year).

• Proven academic success (e.g., 3.5 GPA or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• Access to a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace free from distractions.

• Commitment to work during the specified hours of operation.

• Preferred experience teaching at the college or community college level.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to design customized, engaging lesson plans utilizing practical, real-world examples.

• Passion for helping students identify, strive for, and achieve their fullest potential.

• Energetic and outgoing personality.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
