English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Conduct small group instruction in English core competencies for ACT and SAT preparation.

• Monitor and assess student progress through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Provide students with personalized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Organize and update student lesson schedules regularly.

• Ensure students are held accountable for their assignments.

• Exemplify professionalism and strong organizational abilities through timely communication with students.

• Design and creatively implement evolving lesson plans and curriculum materials.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application process.

• Collaborate with instructors, counselors, and specialists to promote student success.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., 3.5+ GPA).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• Access to a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions.

• Willingness to work during designated hours of operation.

• Preference for candidates with teaching experience at the college or community college level.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to create customized, engaging lesson plans utilizing practical, real-world examples.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
