English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills to foster long-term comprehension and achieve high scores on ACT and SAT exams.

• Monitor student progress through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Involve students in personalized growth and development opportunities.

• Organize and update student lesson schedules.

• Hold students responsible for their assignments.

• Demonstrate professionalism and strong organizational abilities through timely communication with students.

• Oversee the development and creative implementation of evolving lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application process.

• Prepare students for college by offering tailored test prep, college counseling, and college essay services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• Teaching experience in English and/or involvement in a college-level Writing Center (minimum of 1 year).

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Suites.

• Dependable internet connection and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions.

• Willingness to work during designated operational hours.

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Ability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans utilizing practical, real-world examples.

• Energetic and outgoing personality.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
