English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.

📋 Description

• Provide instruction to small groups of students focusing on essential English skills to ensure long-term comprehension and achieve high ACT/SAT scores.

• Monitor student progress utilizing Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Foster individualized growth and improvement opportunities for students.

• Organize and update lesson schedules for each student.

• Hold students accountable for their assignments and responsibilities.

• Exemplify professionalism and strong organizational skills through prompt communication with students.

• Design and creatively implement dynamic lesson plans and curriculum adjustments.

• Guide middle and high school students throughout the college application process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities field from accredited US institutions (such as English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., a GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Suite.

• A reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions.

• A commitment to working during the designated hours of operation.

• Previous teaching experience at the college or community college level is preferred.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Ability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans that incorporate practical, real-world examples.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
