English Instructor, FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students key English skills to foster long-term understanding and achieve high ACT/SAT scores.

• Monitor student progress using Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Inspire students through personalized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Keep student lesson schedules current and organized.

• Ensure students are accountable for their assignments.

• Exemplify professionalism and strong organizational skills through prompt communication with students.

• Create and innovatively implement evolving lesson plans and curricula.

• Guide middle and high school students throughout the college application journey.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (such as English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• At least one year of teaching experience in English or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence, with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

• Excellent verbal communication skills and proficiency in the English language.

• Familiarity with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Suite.

• A dependable internet connection and a workspace that is quiet and free from distractions.

• Willingness to work during the designated Hours of Operations.

• Preferred experience teaching at the college or community college level.

• Knowledge of classroom pedagogy and the ability to design engaging, customized lesson plans.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
