English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Provide instruction to small groups of students focusing on core English skills for ACT and SAT college readiness examinations.

• Monitor and assess student progress using Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Engage students with personalized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Organize and maintain updated lesson schedules for students.

• Ensure students are accountable for completing their assignments.

• Exhibit professionalism and strong organizational abilities through prompt communication with students.

• Design and implement innovative lesson plans and curriculum that adapt to evolving needs.

• Guide middle and high school students throughout the college application process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (such as English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• At least one year of teaching experience in English or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

• Strong verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• Reliable access to the internet and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions.

• Willingness to work during designated operational hours.

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level.

• Deep understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to create tailored, engaging lesson plans that incorporate practical, real-world scenarios.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
