English Instructor, FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills for ACT and SAT preparation.

• Monitor student progress using Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Provide students with personalized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Organize and update student lesson schedules regularly.

• Hold students accountable for their assignments.

• Demonstrate professionalism and strong organizational abilities through timely communication with students.

• Design and creatively implement adaptable lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application process.

• Collaborate with instructors, counselors, and specialists to promote student success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in English or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suite applications.

• Stable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise and distractions.

• Willingness to work during designated hours of operation.

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level is a plus.

• Knowledge of classroom pedagogy and ability to create engaging, customized lesson plans.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
