English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills for sustained comprehension and achieving high scores on ACT and SAT exams.

• Monitor student advancement through Vanguard’s multi-phase educational curriculum.

• Engage students in personalized growth and improvement initiatives.

• Organize and update student lesson schedules effectively.

• Ensure students are responsible for completing their assignments.

• Exemplify professionalism and strong organizational abilities through timely communication with students.

• Design and creatively implement dynamic lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• At least one year of teaching experience in English and/or working in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Exceptional verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• Reliable internet access and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions.

• Availability to work during operational hours: Tuesdays to Thursdays from 1:30 pm CST to 9:30 pm CST; Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 am CST to 5:30 pm CST.

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level.

• Comprehensive knowledge of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to develop tailored, engaging lesson plans utilizing practical, real-world examples.

• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
