This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.
• Teach small groups of students essential English skills aimed at ensuring long-term comprehension and achieving high scores on the ACT and SAT exams.
• Monitor student progress using Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.
• Provide students with personalized growth and improvement opportunities.
• Keep student lesson schedules up to date.
• Hold students responsible for their assignments.
• Demonstrate professionalism and excellent organizational abilities through prompt communication with students.
• Oversee the development and creative implementation of dynamic lesson plans and curriculum.
• Support middle and high school students through the college application process with compassion.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from U.S. institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).
• At least one year of teaching experience in English or working in a college-level Writing Center.
• Proven academic excellence, with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Suite.
• A reliable internet connection and a workspace that is free from significant noise and distractions.
• A commitment to working during designated operational hours.
• Teaching experience at the college or community college level is preferred.
• A solid understanding of classroom pedagogy and the ability to design customized, engaging lesson plans.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
