English Copy Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Execute copy-editing responsibilities on mathematics textbooks designed for ESL students from Grade 2 to Grade 8.

• Modify English content to make it accessible for students with limited English skills.

• Translate specific sections of instructional material into Vietnamese.

• Conduct thorough editing for cultural relevance, accuracy, artwork logs, and translation tagging.

• Review for clarity and coherence, addressing errors, ensuring cross-dependency consistency, and validating headings, key terms, unit features, activities, questions and answers, and the glossary.

• Provide manuscript files with tracked changes.

• Submit clean manuscript files.

• Edit artwork logs for consistency.

• Complete and address the final query log with responses prior to submission.

• Fill out the client brief checklist and supply notes for the typesetter or proofreader as needed.

• Assist teachers in Vietnam in aligning national curriculum content with international learning outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in English.

• A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.

• At least 3 years of experience in teaching English to young learners.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in copy-editing.

• Familiarity with the corporate business landscape.

• Proficiency in Vietnamese.

• Availability to work 6–8 hours a day during the designated project weeks.

• Capability to perform copy-editing and linguistic tasks for mathematics textbooks aimed at ESL students in Vietnam.
