This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota, +1 more state.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients regarding project activities, which include developing project scope, supporting proposals, resolving conflicts, and managing long-term relationships.
• Oversee the planning and implementation of multi-disciplinary capital projects while adhering to budget, schedule, and contractual obligations.
• Manage all aspects of project execution from defining scope through engineering, procurement, construction support, commissioning, and start-up phases.
• Directly supervise and coordinate engineering teams, subcontractors, vendors, OEM service representatives, and contractors.
• Handle project scope modifications, ensuring they are properly documented, assessed, and executed.
• Coordinate procurement processes, which involve bid solicitation, evaluation, contract awarding, and developing equipment purchasing strategies.
• Collaborate with construction management during installation, technical check-out, and start-up phases.
• Develop and advocate for adherence to project-specific and client safety standards.
• Identify and implement corrective measures to address project challenges.
• Recognize opportunities for enhancing project execution, operational efficiency, and future business growth.
• Engage in client-facing presentations, project reviews, and proposal creation.
• Travel approximately 25–35% for project planning, design evaluations, installations, start-ups, and troubleshooting activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Paper Science, or a related field) or equivalent technical experience.
• Over 5 years of project management experience leading capital projects in manufacturing settings.
• Experience in the paper converting, paper manufacturing, tissue, or related paper products sectors.
• Proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary project teams through planning, design, procurement, construction, and start-up processes.
• Skilled in developing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
• Proficient in using project management tools for scheduling and financial oversight.
• Approximately 25–35% travel is necessary.
• Preferred: Over 10 years of experience in the paper, converting, tissue, packaging, or broader pulp and paper industry.
• Preferred: More than 7 years of experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• PMP certification or the capability to obtain it is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• Experience in a consulting environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with lump sum, time and materials, and guaranteed maximum price contracting models is preferred.
