Engineering Manager – Team Monetisation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Croatia.

📋 Description

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of full-stack engineers through one-on-one sessions, career advancement, recruitment, and constructive feedback.

• Take responsibility for the delivery within the Monetisation domain, ensuring consistent, high-quality output aligned with a defined roadmap.

• Establish the technical direction alongside the team, remaining actively involved to steer architectural decisions and resolve complex challenges.

• Collaborate with the product team to define priorities across value-added services, payments, and escrow solutions.

• Advocate for AI-assisted engineering practices as an integral component of the team's development process.

• Ensure the quality of delivered work, foster individual growth, and connect engineering efforts to revenue results.

• Collaborate with broader engineering leadership to identify priorities and address any obstacles.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing and developing a team of software engineers, including aspects of personnel growth and recruitment.

• Background in the payments or fintech sector, or experience related to escrow, KYC, or identity verification.

• Strong engineering expertise, ideally full-stack, with proficiency in TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js, and React.

• Proven history of taking ownership of delivery for a team or domain, translating strategy into a practical roadmap and executing it.

• Comfortable assessing designs, guiding architectural decisions, and making technical compromises.

• Familiarity with GraphQL and its application in extensive systems with multiple consumers.

• Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.

• Regular use of AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Codex in engineering tasks.

• A perspective on how teams should integrate AI-assisted development methodologies.

• Proficiency in English is required.

• Bonus: experience with Grafana or other monitoring and observability solutions.

• Bonus: familiarity with experimentation and conversion rate optimization (CRO).

• Bonus: experience in implementing or scaling AI coding workflows at a team or organizational level.

• Relevant experience with Next.js, React, Node.js, React Native, TypeScript, GitLab CI/CD, Elasticsearch, Redis, Knex, Docker, AWS Lambda, AWS, Grafana, and Bitrise as part of the tech stack.
