Engineering Manager – Team Monetisation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of full-stack engineers through one-on-one meetings, career advancement, recruitment, and constructive feedback.

• Take ownership of delivery within the Monetisation domain, ensuring consistent, high-quality releases aligned with a defined roadmap.

• Establish the technical direction with the team and provide guidance on architecture and complex technical challenges.

• Collaborate with product teams to prioritize initiatives across value-added services, payment solutions, and escrow functionalities.

• Advocate for the integration of AI-assisted engineering as a standard practice in team development.

• Manage team performance, ensure quality delivery, foster individual growth, and connect engineering efforts to revenue outcomes.

• Collaborate with broader engineering leadership to establish priorities and eliminate obstacles.

• Develop and oversee pricing strategies, checkout processes, payment processing, recurring subscriptions, product activations, experimentation/CRO, and escrow systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing and developing a team of software engineers, including talent development and recruitment.

• Background in the payments or fintech sector (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, Braintree), or experience related to escrow, KYC, or identity verification.

• Strong engineering foundation, ideally full-stack experience with TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js, and React.

• Demonstrated history of owning delivery for a team or domain, effectively translating strategy into a roadmap and executing it.

• Proficient in reviewing designs, guiding architectural decisions, and navigating technical trade-offs.

• Familiarity with GraphQL and its application in large-scale systems with multiple consumers.

• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.

• Regular use of AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Codex in engineering tasks.

• Possess a viewpoint on team integration of AI tools.

• Working proficiency in English is essential.

• Bonus: experience with Grafana or other monitoring and observability platforms.

• Bonus: experience with experimentation and CRO methodologies.

• Bonus: experience in implementing or scaling AI coding workflows.

• Technical expertise in Next.js, React, Node.js, React Native, TypeScript, GitLab CI/CD, Elasticsearch, Redis, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Knex, Docker, AWS Lambda, AWS, Grafana, and Bitrise.
