This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland, +4 more countries.
• Lead and nurture a team of backend and frontend engineers.
• Offer ongoing feedback and facilitate career development through meaningful discussions.
• Work in conjunction with go-to-market teams to assist customers and prospects throughout their observability collection process.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership on initiatives such as Fleet Management, the Kubernetes Monitoring Helm Chart, and the Instrumentation Hub.
• Steer projects from conception through planning, execution, and post-launch evaluation.
• Promote an environment of psychological safety, innovation, experimentation, and continuous enhancement.
• Engage across team boundaries and collaborate with other departments to address customer challenges.
• Experience in observability, particularly with OpenTelemetry, or in developing a central control plane for managing fleets of collectors is highly beneficial.
• Comfortable working with self-sufficient engineering teams.
• Up-to-date knowledge of technical trends and the issues faced by engineering teams.
• Experience collaborating across various time zones and cultures in a completely remote setting.
• Proven ability to manage complexity, align stakeholders, and enhance team performance.
• Strong focus on customer needs.
• Solid grasp of distributed systems principles, including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, and observability.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools; practical experience incorporating AI-driven tools into team workflows is preferred.
• Ability to manage both backend and frontend engineers while fostering their professional development.
